A series of recordings made by Howard Lawrence (one half of Disclosure) in his home studio in Sussex, where he makes most of his music that he sends to his brother Guy (the other half of Disclosure) in Los Angeles. This episode was recorded in the last of autumn with the theme, By the Fire.

I’ve always been interested in the link between music and memory… Like smells, music can transport us back to specific moments in time or even remind us of particular feelings or people etc. As the summer comes to a close and the last fruits ripen, I’ve been looking back in awe at just how quickly time goes by! Some of these songs still sound fresh to me despite having first heard several of them DECADES ago.

Hey everyone, welcome back to Slowdown with Howard. Festival season is in full swing so it’s been a minute but I’ve had just enough time to slow things down and make the second recording. This time the theme is ‘piano’ and I’ll be sharing some music that I love from Debussy all the way to Gang Starr, along with some stories, including a cheeky exposé on Guy’s parkour days 🤸‍♂️ Soon there’ll be a bunch more recordings on the way that may feature a special guest or two 👀
